HOLY WAR
oil & burnished 23k gold leaf
100” x 40”

The painting "HOLY WAR" is an allegorical painting representing the western countries' quests for colonization of most of the world. The angelic face and bare breasted figure is captivating to the indigenous peoples and relieves there fears of any harm ensuing from these intruders. Empire is on the march and the "church" follows behind under the guise of civilising and imparting religion to these primitive and savage people. Small comfort this new indoctrination holds as the Empire begins it's Holy War, sacrificing these bewildered and pagan souls to the alters of land, power and wealth in the name of god. Empire is still strong and still creating Holy Wars.
